We Need a Little Christmas

2025 December Banner3.png

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to every Bean celebrating this month! We're keeping things pretty lowkey, but a special gift will hopefully make up for it. Santa Claus told us that so many good Jellybeans have been wishing for autoloot to return, so how could we say no? Enjoy it while it lasts until the end of the event. We still want to figure out a long-term solution for balance before we would make autoloot a permanent thing, but if there was ever a time of year for wishes to come true, it's now, so don't give up hope! Keep reading for info about what this year's Christmas event has to offer.

Krampus is Coming to Town!

Krampus is an event that occurs in Lutie every hour. An evil Baphomet-like monster known as Krampus will be wandering about and dragging a bag through town. Occasionally his bag will rip and drop Christmas Presents, but sometimes he will want some personal space and will blow up everyone who is near him. After about 8 minutes he will flee the town with whatever he managed to keep in his bag, but he will return soon enough for more.

Hole-y Socks!

Being in Lutie, the Christmas town of Midgard, has its own stress and troubles. Mierna (/navi xmas_in 91/91) is certain someone has stolen all of her Red Stockings. She will give you a Christmas present for every pair of stockings (2) you bring. It shouldn’t be too hard to locate the culprit. Antonio can be found in the fields of Prontera, Geffen, and Payon

Event Reward Shop

Hidden in the IsFörsvar fields is a small town called Farvir. In the tavern is a little Mystcase named Gifu (/navi far_in01 15/26) that is collecting Christmas Presents for redistribution. You may ask Gifu about the event to get more tips on where else to obtain presents including ice fishing and weekly GM events. Bring loads of presents and Gifu will exchange them for wonderful rewards, including two powerful cards that have never been seen before on JellyRO! The Special Xmas Box has returned to the reward shop, and it can also be purchased in the Auro Shop, as is tradition.

Put a Bow On It

Did you know that you can gift wrap almost any item? To do so you just need to get your hands on both Wrapping Paper and Wrapping Lace. Clicking on one of them will open a shop menu. (This isn't a real shop, just how the client renders it.)  Place a single item in the window and click sell. It will return to your inventory in a beautifully wrapped box. This feature is active year around, but this is a good time for a reminder!

The Wrapping Paper and Wrapping Lace can be found by slaying Christmas Orcs and Christmas Goblins in the IsFörsvar Cave.

This gift can be traded and mailed to your friends. They cannot be vended however, and you shouldn't be trading them with the intent of deception and/or making a profit. Santa is watching.

Event ends on January 5, 2026!

Pumpkin Power! A Second Helping of Pie

Tue, 04 Nov 2025 02:43:26 +0000

2025 November Banner.png

Spooky season may be over, but pumpkin season is still in full swing! We decided to keep the pumpkin spice flowing so you can keep making Powerful Pumpkin Pies in November. We hope you enjoyed the Halloween event and autoloot. Thank you so much for all your feedback. You have given us plenty to discuss... from the other buffs on the Greed bags to the Greed skill itself. It will take some time to come to a decision on a solution. Autoloot will be turned off for now, but it may return again soon, at least temporarily.

The Pies Persist!

Casper the travelling cook will stay with us another month and serve his trademarked Powerful Pumpkin Pies! As such, the Edible Pumpkin and Raw Dough drops will still be obtainable from monsters, but Casper won't be giving out any more Pumpkin Festival Certificates this month. Even though last year's pies have not yet expired, don't expect the pies to last forever. Enjoy the pumpkin spicy goodness until the next Halloween event. With +1 all stats and +1% Atk and MAtk, they're too sweet to be forgotten in your storage.

Holy Moly!

We thought it would be nice to reward the top Holy Water donor for going above and beyond. Keither gave 54,500 Holy Waters to keep Prontera's streets zombie-free! He has been rewarded with a Special Item Ticket.

Next maintenance on December 1, 2025 @ 4 PM Server Time!

Frights, Delights, and Candy Bites

Tue, 07 Oct 2025 04:25:05 +0000

2025 October.png

This Halloween season, Prontera has transformed into a haunted wonderland! 🎃 Join the festivities with trick-or-treating, hunting pumpkin ghosts, making delicious pumpkin pie, and more! But beware... something darker lurks in the shadows outside Prontera. Gear up, gather your friends, and dive into this hauntingly fun event. Keep reading for more details!

Let the Pumpkin Festival Begin!

The annual Pumpkin Festival is a beloved JellyRO tradition dating back to November 2012 when the Halloween event was late due to the server almost closing 😱 before a brave soul stepped up to save us. Many things have changed since then (including the server name and owner), but we are still here to share spooky fun and treats with our players!

Pumpkin Certs & Rewards

There are lots of things you can do during this event, including a few mini-games in various towns, that give you Pumpkin Festival Certificates for participating. These can be exchanged for prizes by Hermann, the Ticket Master in Prontera (/navi prontera 147/198). However his stock is a little dry at the start. Visit him daily to see what he offers you. Rumor has it that the most desirable (and pricy) items will be available after 13 or 14 days of stopping by Hermann's shop. Plan accordingly! If you miss a few days, it won't reset your progress, but make sure you don't run out of time to unlock all the rewards! Also, remember to use the certificates before the event ends and they vanish.

Trick or Treat

59909-Trick or treat.png

Halloween lasts for one day, but during the Pumpkin Festival, it's still custom and practice to dress up and go from house to house to ask for candy for the entire month. You will be able to trick or treat in the five towns: Alberta, Geffen, Izlude, Niflheim, and Rachel. On the minimap you will see the locations of the houses where you can knock to ask for candy. But wait! You need to put on a costume first! In all of these five towns, you will find the Unhappy Mask Salesman, and he will assist you in creating a mask that disguises you as a monster to go trick or treating! Keep in mind that for each town, you need to put on a different mask. When using the mask, your costume will only stay for 1 minute, so better stand in front of a door, or else your mask will go to waste.
The towns each have 10 houses giving out candy. You can only knock on a door once each day, and there are different kinds of candies or other surprises that you can get depending on the town. You can go trick or treating 10 times each day per character. For every successful knock on a door, you get 1 certificate. Now go, and find out which types of candy you can get from all the towns!

59909-Maskseller.png

Unhappy Mask Salesman locations for each town:

Alberta 28,240

Geffen 39,124

Izlude 102,67

Niflheim 27,157

South of Rachel (ve_fild02) 183,380

Mysterious Pumpkins

59909-Mysterious pumpkins.png

Mysterious Pumpkins will appear in the towns of Payon, Aldebaran, Comodo, and Morocc. They are quite harmless, but among them, a few Mischievous Ghosts are hiding, disguised as a pumpkin. Find the Mischievous Ghosts, and drive them out of the towns, so they stop scaring people. But be careful, they are quite swift... After 30 minutes, if all the ghosts have not been found, all of the pumpkins will disappear again. You will see an announcement when they're back! You get Certificates when you reveal them and when you manage to defeat them! After the mini-game ends, they will be back in 60 minutes.

To ensure a smooth ghost hunting experience for yourself and other players, try to wait until you see the message confirming you killed the ghost before teleporting off to find more. Being mid-teleport while the system is processing the kill may result it not being counted, which can be confusing when people are looking for one more ghost that was already dealt with!

This mini-game has been revamped so that we can run it as a GM weekly event. So look forward to earning those extra festival certificates if it is chosen by vote.

Old Cobby's Spirit

Face the elusive jelly pumpkin demon Old Cobby and keep him on his toes! If he's always on the run, he won't be able to turn Prontera into his personal patch of doom! Old Cobby's Spirit respawns every 10 - 20 minutes, in prt_fild08. Defeating him will reward 3 certificates and 1 old purple box. As a unique event monster, the rules for boss monsters apply to Old Cobby, so he is free-for-all. Good luck!

Powerful Pumpkin Pies

59909-Pumpkin Pie.png

When you kill monsters you might receive an Edible Pumpkin or some Raw Dough. You can use these items to create a Powerful Pumpkin Pie that boosts your stats for a short while. To do that, bring 3 Edible Pumpkins and 1 Raw Dough to Casper, the not-so-dead travelling cook (/navi prontera 145/200). You can only get 1 certificate each day for creating pumpkin pies, but you can create as many pies as you wish.

Uneasy Cemetery

59909-Banner.png

When night falls, the undead rise from their graves in Prontera. Bring Holy Water to Mother Mathana (/navi prontera 257/313), to ease the dead. She won't appear until the undead stir for the first time. She requires 1000 holy water, but as a community you can work together to keep Prontera safe. For every 100 holy water you hand in you will get a Pumpkin Harvest Certificate. When day comes, the dead will return back to their sleep to haunt another night. Mother Mathana will take all your holy water, even if you give her a surplus that covers more than one day. However, bringing more than the required amount of holy water can earn the city additional peaceful nights when the dead will not stir. A day in Ragnarok has been set for 12 hours. Night occurs at midnight and noon server time.

Event ends on November 3rd @ 4 PM Server Time!

Leaves Are Falling, Adventure is Calling!

Tue, 02 Sep 2025 08:37:30 +0000

2025 September.png

The summer festivities have come to an end, and visions of all things pumpkin spice dance in our heads. The leaves may not have yet begun to fall, but Autumn is coming. For September, we like to pause from the event hype, but before you know it, the JellyRO Holiday Season will be right around the corner starting with Halloween in October! Until then we wanted to at least have a little update for you. There are so many things we're working on and even more that we should be working on, but we decided that the Bloody Branch Rooms needed some love. Read on for more details!

Next Maintenance is on October 6th!

Branching Out

We added a few features to the Bloody Branch Rooms that will enhance your monster-battling experience! Don't need a whole 3 hours for burning through your Dead Branch supply to amuse your low level party? Guildmates brought more BBs than you anticipated? Everything was going great in your solo room until Beelz showed up? We got you, Jellybeans!

More features and options for the BB Rooms may be added in the future based on feedback so please let us know what you think!

The Very Best

This year's Fishing Master high score of 304 belongs to WhiteDeathSmith!

They will receive a Special Item Ticket for their valiant effort to reel the Big One.

Seas the Day and Shell-ebrate Summer!

Tue, 05 Aug 2025 00:51:59 +0000

2023 August.png

Say it ain't so, Jellybeans! Summer is almost over, but as usual, we're making sure it goes out with a bang! We hope you enjoy the carnival games in a new location this year, and of course new rewards! We've also been mulling over a change to a widely used SQI accessory, and finally decided it was time to give Assassins a break since they are not as much of a threat to our custom plant-type Emperiums. That's right, all Assassin jobs can get +45 STR with one Megingjard, and a total of +60 STR with two, just like everyone else... except for Monk jobs, but that's a debate for another time. Anyway, please hold your cheers and/or boos until you've taken a look at what the End-of-Summer Festival has to offer!

All Summer Events End on September 1, 2025 @ 4 PM Server Time!

(Maintenance start time is subject to change and will be updated here if necessary)

🎪 Carnival Arrives in Jawaii! 🎆

The traveling carnival that made an appearance in Amatsu the past few years has decided they want to change things up a bit and set up their game stalls, food carts, and other attractions on the lovely island of Jawaii! ❤️

To participate in the event, you will need to get get summer festival coins. These are rewarded by participating in live GM events, but you can get more by exchanging summer suits or zeny for coins from the talking Grand Peco on the Jawaii beach (Coin Exchanger: Jawaii 222,230). Before you start playing any games, you'll need also need to get a special game card from the Stem Worm right next to him (Points Redeemer: Jawaii 224, 227). All the points you earn from playing games will be stored on this card. You can share it between multiple characters if necessary, but don't lose it or you will have to get a new one with 0 points on it.

Carnival Directory

Spoiler

Big Wheel

Central Game Stalls

Luck Based

Your points

image.jpeg

This game features a big wheel. You bet your points, predict what you will land on, and spin the wheel. Depending on what color it lands on will determine how much you win or lose.

White: 24 slots: You will win what ever you betted with. 5 points = 5+ points

Purple: 15 slots: You will win double whatever you betted on. 5 points = 10+ points

Green: 7 slots: You will win five times the amount you betted on. 5 points = 25+ points

Yellow: 4 slots: You will win ten times the amount you betted on. 5 points = 50+ points

Blue: 2 slots: you will win twenty times the amount you betted on. 5 points = 100+ points

Pink / Orange:  1 slot: you will win forty times the amount you betted on. 5 points = 200+ points

This game is very random and very luck based, just like a roulette wheel at a casino. You have no real control over where the wheel will land, so take a chance and spin~

Claw Machine

Central Game Stalls

Pure Skill

3 Summer coins

image.jpeg

This is a game that is very hard to explain without you playing it a few times. Before you play it's best to Scout first. The machine has 100 slots, 10 rows, 10 columns.  If there is a O in the slot, that means there is a prize there, X mean there is not. When there are less than 10 prizes left the machine will refresh it's entire state, and thus the old prizes may move. So best to check.

But how to play? The claw starts at the top left corner of the grid. When you start it will start moving towards the bottom. When you press next, it will start moving right. Finally when you press next again it will grab what ever slot the claw is currently in. It takes 3 full seconds for the claw to make it's way to the edge.

As for what you win, each of the capsules contains points. And they can hold one of the following:

5 points

20 points

50 points

100 points.

If you are skilled enough to time your presses, and understand how the scouting mechanic works, you can probably clear this machine out super easily, and make a lot of points very quickly.  The only thing that is chance is the amount of points that are in the capsule, but that is determined when the machine starts up and is renewed.

Think of this machine like someone covered the front where the button is that you need to press, but the back  isn't covered so you can sort of make out where things are.

Exploding Melons

Central Game Stalls / Transported to remote island

Pure Skill

Free

image.jpeg

This attraction doesn't have a cost, but it also doesn't have a prize, it's purely for fun. Just click on the little chat window above the NPC's head, and when there are at least 2 players in the chat room a 60 second count down will start, allowing others to join. Exploding melons is just like bomb poring but they don't move. Do your best to avoid being hit.

The game will keep track of the furthest wave and who it was that made completed it, though it's not saved. So if the server were to reset that would be lost, but it's for fun, so have a blast.

If the last few players die on the same round, then it's considered a loss for all. The game will not allow ties after all.

Fishing

Docks at North End of the Beach

Pure Skill

3 Summer coins

image.jpeg

This game is super easy if you fish normally. Unlike normal fishing this fish will never give up, but that's not your goal. Your goal is to keep the fish hooked for as long as you can. For every 3 seconds you can hold onto the line you will get 1 point, but you need to survive the first 30 seconds before you will get any points. If you are not good at fishing, just remember that standing and sitting will prevent the fish from going a direction. Practice and maybe you will be the champion of this mini game.

Not only does this game give you points, but if you have the top score at the end of the event, you will be declared the Fishing Master in the next announcement post and receive a Special Item Ticket in your RoDex mail.

Food Stalls & Bus Cafe

North End of Beach

Service

Summer coins / Zeny

image.jpeg

We added 3 vendors for selling you tasty goods. You can either pay with Zeny or with Summer coins. We hope you enjoy the snacks!

High Strike

Central Game Stalls

Mainly Skill Based

3 Summer coins

image.jpeg

Probably one of the easiest games to play. Press next when it says swing, and it takes into account how long it took you to press next, and your strength stat. Some players have got this down to a science, where they know where the sweet spot is in the timing. Ringing the bell will grant you 15 points. Anything less will grant you 1 point for each light you manage to light up.

Petting Zoo

South End of the Beach

Pure Skill

1 Summer coin

image.jpeg

This one is a bit tricky. You are allowed 5 attempts a day. Darren will give you a clue on which pet you are to feed with his special blend of pet food. There are 11 pets that you can click on. Once you start the game, clicking on the pet will feed it. If the food is correct the pet will be happy. The clues have to do with the accessories. So remember to READ what your clue is.

This game keeps track of your total attempts and correct guesses. Being diligent and feeding the pets correctly can yield some wonderful results.

Poring Pond

Central Game Stalls

Mainly Luck Based

2 Summer coins

image.jpeg

This game is simple. In a pool of water are some plastic Porings. Under them are 1 of 4 symbols: Square, Triangle, Moon, or Star. You are to pull out 2. If they match, you will get points.

Square: 5 points
Triangle: 10 points

Moon : 20 points

Star: 40 points.

While the game may seem random. It's actually based on the milliseconds of which you click the next button. But to prevent button mashing both sets use different distributions, but the odds are the same. However~ If you are lucky, you may trigger a Luck holds out event, which will make your second poring match the first.

Divination

Service

Free

59297-Banner.png

Like all the good carnivals, you may come across a fortune teller. This attraction is a bit different from the others. Inside the tent you will find 5 crystal balls, with 5 different means of divining the future. Technically there are 6.

While most may not believe in divination, we have done our best to put in real practices into this service, though it could not hold a candle to the real thing. Normally, the diviner will help you interpret the message and guide you to the answer of which you are seeking. The best we can do is give you the general meaning of the results, and hope that you are able to interpret the meaning from there. Though if you ask Kathis nicely, he could assist you with that.

The following methods have been provided:

Zatini: When asking her to divine the future, you simply ask a question out loud (like in front of your computer), and click next. (She works like a magic 8-ball.)

Dice: Ask your question and click next. The dice will roll. In this particular reading the totals give you a general message, but the dice give you a better direction on which pull the general message is trying to go. The Brass die is about money, Wood is yourself, and Bone is the relationships of those around you. (This would require us to have 216 images if we were to display all possible outcomes.)

Numerology: This is a simple one. It's basically taking your birthday and telling you what sort of fate you were born into. Think of it like figuring out your horoscope or reading palms. We've done our best to account for leap years, but if you happen to be a leap year baby, and are unable to insert your birth date, let us know. After you enter the date it will tell you the special path that life had chosen for you.  (Don't worry, we don't save the birthdate. The moment you are done with the crystal ball it forgets all about you.)

Runes: There are 5 different readings you can get from this one. It works by the method of pulling runes out of the divination bag. Ask your question and read them in order. Before you click on the next one it will tell you what the next rune is suppose to represent, with the exception of the single rune. That one is literally trying to answer your initial question. We may update this one in future updates to show the runes themselves. (There are 24 runes in the Norse alphabet.)

Tarot: There are 6 possible readings with this deck of 78 different cards. We did our best to help with understanding the meaning of each card. Ask your question, and select the type of reading you would like. With the exception of the court cards, we were able to give you a pretty good translation of the Tree of Life. For court cards, we went with the Myers-Briggs Personality types to help guide you, since court cards are personalities mostly.

Scrying: This one is a bit harder to explain, but it follows the method of looking into crystal ball. Generally the future is uncertain, but who knows. Check it daily and see if a future presents itself to you.

This service does require a bit of reading, and open mindedness, and while there is nothing to stop you from doing the readings multiple times in succession and getting different results, just remember that knowing the future, changes the future. And remember bad luck is just luck that is bad. Unlike the fae, you are given the power of choice.

Summer is heating up and we hope you're staying cool! If you're out there touching grass, good for you! But if you've had enough of being cooked by the sun, come inside, grab a cold refreshing beverage, and chill while you farm for summer suit parts (they will be useful later!) or get your guild together for a volleyball match. Also the Jellybean Exchanger and Auro Shop have a few new costumes as well as some you may have missed before. If you're feeling lucky or just love surprises, the Summer Gacha is still available in the Auro Shop. Finally, don't forget that we host a live event every Saturday at 8 PM Server Time where you can win prizes, including Auro and Summer Festival Coins. You'll want to save those coins up for next month! 🎪

Sunny Days & Starry Nights

Tue, 03 Jun 2025 00:37:52 +0000

2025 June.png

Ready or not, here comes summer! Our event features some updated summer classics and a big milestone for one of our staff members, plus we made a couple simple but useful updates players have been asking for. Summer at JellyRO can be as action-packed or laid-back as you'd like, but keep in mind that the carnival is expected to return for the End-of-Summer Festival in August. You'll want to save up for that, not to mention the exciting surprises in boxes that await you right now in the Auro Shop. We hope you have many fun adventures this summer, both in-game and in real life!

Summertime Fun

Ranked Volleyball is making a comeback to Beacon Island. Last summer we implemented some gameplay improvements, a new scoring system, and a new way to measure your volleyball skill. You may notice that the ball moves quicker and farther than before. We also decided that bigger numbers are better! Both teams start with 250 points and various actions in the game will transfer some of your points to the opposite team, and vice versa. When a team runs out of points, they have lost and the game is over.

Always try your best because now your wins and losses are tracked using an Elo-like system. Everyone starts out at 1000 and the number will go up or down depending on your performance. Besides starting a match and learning more about the game, you can check your "rank" with the fabulous-looking Info Guy (cmd_fild07 256, 107). We hope everyone hits the court frequently and enjoys the competition. If we get enough feedback, we may add prizes next year.

We enabled the Summer Suit drops (Aloha Shirt & Swimming Shorts), which you can bring to Tailor Jessica at Beacon Island in exchange for Event Costume Boxes (#1 or #2). These boxes contain two different styles of a full-body summer suit costume. You may end up with more than you will use, but you will find another use for these boxes if you hang onto them until August!

Also, the Summer Gacha is back in the Auro Shop for the season with a few adjustments and an addition that many players have in their sights... but getting it may be a long shot.

🌠 Astrophel's Stellar Journey 🌠

Astrophel joined us as a tester (under a different name) 5 years ago and has since grown into a Support GM who does so much more than support our players. She is a force of nature that keeps us spinning. Her love for JellyRO is shown through her creativity, enthusiasm, and honestly telling us when something needs to change. I told her I wouldn't make a big show, so I'll wrap up the accolades and get to the fun stuff! For a limited time, Astrophel's personally curated Staff Anniversary Box will be available in the Auro Shop for 250 Auro. There's also a small chance of getting one from a Jellyblob. You may also have a chance to win one if you attend any events this month. Be sure to open these orb-like boxes before the next maintenance or they will turn to stardust.

Jelly: Now With 15% More Spring!

Mon, 05 May 2025 23:48:06 +0000

2025 May.png

This MAY be just another maintenance, but get ready for things to heat up this summer! You can expect some traditional summer event activities (TBA) and the Summer Gacha will be back too, but this June will also feature a special celebration that is sure to be stellar! We've been a bit light on the updates we promised this spring, but they're still coming along. However, we did add a few new costumes that were previously only available as normal hats, some more rare than others. Also, guild dungeons are back on the menu! Keep reading for more on that, and enjoy the last days of spring!

Next Maintenance is on June 2, 2025!

Guild Dungeon Warper

After regularly scheduled WoE returned to JellyRO, we had to let the Guild Dungeon Warper go. It's all well and good to let everyone have access to guild dungeons when we're beta testing, but now the guilds that hold the castles should be able to enjoy those perks without any interference. Wait, I just got a report that a shady woman is sneaking members of other guilds into guild dungeons in exchange for some Zeny! Could it be her...?

More Updates Blooming Soon

Tue, 08 Apr 2025 00:26:02 +0000

2025 April.png

It's April, Jellybeans! The skies are rainy and the plants are waking up. In some places, beautiful blossoming trees have stolen the show, but others are still taking their time. Likewise, we have some projects in the works, both big and small, but making them grow is proving more difficult than anticipated. Please bear with us while we do what we can to bring to fruition the fixes and new content you've been waiting for. Indeed, these are trying times, and we don't even have an egg to offer you (except the monthly pet in the Jellybean shop), but if all goes as planned, our updates will start to bloom over next few months.

Spring is a time for growth and rejuvenation, so why not try something new to you this month? Is there a character class you’ve never played? A map you’ve never explored? A quest you’ve never pursued? A boss you’ve never defeated? A multitude of fresh ways to experience JellyRO await you.

Or perhaps you’ve seen and done it all? What better way to see the world through new eyes than to invite a friend to play and accompany them on their journey, starting with the basics as a Novice? Along the way you can share their first experiences and make some new memories. Whatever you decide to do, we wish you the best in this change of seasons.

Next maintenance is on April 7, 2025!
